About the Programs

All curriculum and lessons at Leap Ahead are carefully chosen to help prepare your child for kindergarten with an emphasis on ABC's, early reading, writing and math skills.  We are a full service childcare center and preschool specializing in care of children form ages 6 weeks old to 5 years old that is open year round and offers convenient full and part time care to accommodate our parents. 

Infant Room

Our infant room is a very cozy and inviting space with a beautiful hand painted mural and decorated with vibrant colors and objects that stimulate the babies.  Soft music is played throughout the day.  Children are rocked and read to on a one on one basis. 

An A.P.P.L.E. Accredited approved curriculum is used in all of our classrooms beginning in our infant room.  The room is filled with lots of age appropriate toys for the children to crawl, play and discover  with. 

The infants are taken for walks in our buggy around the school and out on the playground as soon as they are old enough to sit up and weather permitting. 

Three meals a day or 3 bottles of formula and baby food is provided to our infants at no additional cost to our parents. The current formulas being provided by the schoool are Enfamil Lipil and Prosobee.  Children in our infant room are fed and changed as needed. 

A daily sheet will be provided to all parents that inform parents on the last time their child was fed, changed, and what they did for the day. 

Toddler Room (1 Year Old & Walking - 2 Years Old)

Our center based classrooms are set up so your child can choose his/her activity and learning adventure.  Two story and circle times during the day are enjoyed by all of our toddlers.  Colors, numbers, shapes, animals and other various age appropriate themes are discussed and taught along with our story time. 

Age appropriate art activities are completed on a daily basis in our one year old room.  Children are also encouraged to play in our blocks and transportation center and our table toy section where they can build and explore. 

Also in our toddler room you will find our science center where children are able to play and discover with plastic animals, medical kits, magnifying glases and plastic dinosaurs and insects.  Additionally, the dramatic play center is set up with play kitchens, tables, dishes, foods, dolls, dress up clothes and much more to let children play, discover, and pretend. 

Two playground times, one in the morning and one in the afternoon where the children get to discover the outdoors, play on our many outside toys, swing, and enjoy each others company also complete one of your child's exciting days at Leap Ahead.

Twaddler Room (2 Year Olds)

Our Twaddler room is set up with our active and curious 2 year olds in mind.  Age appropriate books, puppets, cozy furniture and pillows and flannel board all help introduce your child to print and install early reading skills as well as introduce them to the alphabet. 

Hands on art activities including painting, play dough, crayons, and washable paint allow children to work with the teacher one on one and other students on activities that engage your child in learning. 

Our science center is set up with medical kits, plants, plastic insects, and animals, magnifying glasses, color paddles and other age appropriate materials to introduce your child to science.

Our dramatic play center is one of the 2's favorite areas to play and discover, filled with dolls, stoves, refrigerators, dishes, pots and pans, play food, musical instruments, dress up clothes and vacuum cleaners all allow children to use their imaginations, dress up, play house and socialize with one another.

Along with your child's educational experiences at Leap Ahead we will also be introducing them to life skills throughout the day (hand washing, potty training, drinking & eating, talking,etc.

Pre-School Program (3 - 5 Years Old)

Pre-School at Leap Ahead allows your child/children to continue along their educational process and to help them become more prepared for kindergarten.  Children are introduced to writing, identifying their letters, learning the sound of the letters, numbers, days of the week, months of the year and several age appropriate thematic units. 

Several age appropriate centers are in all of our classrooms and are filled with toys and materials that children can learn and explore with. 

Two computer times and outdoor playground times are also enjoyed by our preschool children.  Also, for an additional nominal charge we offer Ballet & Karate. 

Daily sheet are sent home to parents to let you know what your child studied that day, age, liked, and any pertinent information for your child.  Also, homework is sent home beginning as early as the 4 year old room preparing your child for kindergarten and reinforcing the skills we are already teaching your child.
